Hello everyone,

To welcome the early winter season, I’m really excited to invite you to A PLANT-BASED FARMHOUSE WORKSHOP with CHERIE HAUSLER on SUNDAY 02 JUNE.

I realise we’ve enjoyed quite a run of food and cookbook events to begin the year…as I recall hinting may indeed be the case! But then the natural companion to being so passionate about growing vegetables is eating them! So it’s only right a good portion of our workshops are devoted to that topic!

I’ve been in touch with Cherie for awhile, and as soon as A PLANT-BASED FARMHOUSE the book was published a couple of months ago, Cherie very kindly posted me a copy so we might plan a very special seasonal cooking workshop for when you meet her. Each time I wing off another suggestion to Cherie about which recipes we might include, I discover yet another I want to try. 

People often ask if I’m vegetarian, and the answer is no…we all meat here but...not every day; and the number of veg always far outweighs any meat that might be on our plates. So I don’t hesitate to call our diet predominatly plant-based. 

I’m fascinated by some of the staples Cherie makes to have on hand in her pantry, alongside her absolute no-fuss methods. My copy of her beautiful book (exquisitely photographed by our dear friend Lean Timms) is sitting here on my desk, tempting me to dip back in time and again, and prompting me to send Cherie yet another message to ask if we might include this or that on the day, as I’m sure these are things you’d like to discover too. Our PLANT-BASED FARMHOUSE WORKSHOP is going to be fun…and delicious!

What a divine way to spend an early winter Sunday – with good food, lots of chatter, cups of tea, new staples and new delights to add to your pantry and repertoire. I’ll set a fire in the Dairy...I just know we’re going to be in for a real treat!
