It was an absolute delight to have Charlotte Thodey here last Friday for her Visual Feast. Oh but it was so much more….what wise words, thoughts and insights. It was truly a feast for the mind and soul.
With light levels too low inside and a feast of an edible kind to get onto the long table, I failed to snap good images (in fact, I failed to snap anything at all except these two!)….but Charlotte brought along some of her own beautiful home grown specimens to accompany her collection of paintings on the day, and a lively gaggle roamed the garden and enjoyed a lunch befitting the Queen of Still Life Veg: Pumpkin, Apple & Ginger Soup, Fennel & Lemon Risotto, Leaf & Petal Salad and Fig Ice Cream topped with Candied Cumquats.
I send a big, big thank you to Ange for cooking the risotto for me out the back….twelve to sixteen I can manage at a pinch, but twenty-five I cannot! She did a fabulous job as I knew she would….it was delicious!
And to Charlotte, an enormous thank you for bringing your quirky, insightful, joyous and reflective self to Glenmore – you gave our guests such a treat!
