I was so thrilled to pick up these four darling pelargoniums from Sandy Crisp’s stall at the Harper’s Mansion Plant Fair at Berrima on Sunday. I thought they set off my pale green plant stand rather well….(and now it’s time to get them into terracotta pots so they can join their older companions down at the Potting Shed). For me, this is what plant fairs are all about – no need to go totally berserk….but to find just a few little treasures….
I had the very same spot as last year….tucked into one of the meandering paths in the perfectly picturesque gardens, so well-tended by volunteers of the National Trust. I think it’s a magical garden and look forward to making a visit on a day when I’m not attached to my stall! Despite all the dreary weather reports, it was an absolutely glorious day and I was delighted to set up shop in a pocket of shade and to have the opportunity to talk to so many visitors.
The organisers tell me this will now be a bi-annual event – SO exciting, so watch this space for the 2017 date and be sure to put it into your diary then! It’s a must-visit plant fair to have on your agenda!
