Whilst I’m longing to get back to regaling you with all the excitement taking place in the Kitchen Garden….I just could’t leave this trail of ornamental posts without dropping in a bright and happy image of the Dahlia, ‘Bishop of Llandaff’. Planted right next to the yellow ginger you saw in yesterday’s post, together, they make an intoxicating visual combination of autumn red and golden yellow. With the frangipani towering overhead, all I need is a large waxy Solandra maxima to bud up and an out of season Burmese honeysuckle to send out one of its delicate, giant yellow blooms (which it sometimes does at this time), and I’ll be totally happy! Oh that I were growing vast quantities of them to put into a huge vase – they would be spectacular indeed!
