I sometimes wonder if I grow this group of frost loving winter veg to eat, or for their decorative appeal! I do know I like to keep their deeply veined, exquisite leaves of blue/grey and purple closely planted together to best enjoy the effect, but now I can’t bring myself to cut the cauliflower!  (Though I’ll have to before the sun browns it off). Now that we’ve enjoyed almost a week of frosty mornings, I’ve been able to move the cage from the brassica bed (it was protecting this group from the persistent white cabbage moth) and so this group of beauties is better exposed to bright shafts of winter sunlight….
