And we have apples!! Not very many, as you can see, but I’m delighted! While the birds took all the Granny Smiths, (despite my efforts which clearly were not good enough), we have some absolutely delicious, crisp & crunchy Cox’s Orange Pippins. I think I originally planted the variety because of its romantic name, and the connection that it was bred and introduced around the time the first simple buildings at Glenmore were being realised. Isn’t their russet-red, streaked & mottly hue deliciously old-fashioned?
