They may be small but…here is pure intoxication in a tiny blossom…
Hello everyone,
How I hope you will be tempted to join CRAIG ANDRADE aka THE RACONTEUR and me for our EARLY SPRING PERFUMERY & CITRUS CELEBRATION on SUNDAY 25 SEPTEMBER!
How WE are looking forward to it! Some of you will recall this orange filled day was to be the first in our series of perfumery workshops last year, but it was canned due to you-know-what. So we are simply bursting at the seams to share and celebrate all the elements the citrus family contribute to universal olfactory delight.
The two perfumery / candle masterclass workshops we’ve run so far have been…well…pretty intoxicating! They particularly thrill me because they enable the opportunity to delve more deeply into the plant material in the garden here. Accompanied by Craig’s eloquent and descriptive olfactory insights, it makes for pure sensory delight as we explore the aromatic qualities of individual plants on our pick & sniff ramble. This time however, given how early it is in the garden season, yet conversely it’s the moment for the citrus family to shine…the day may unfold slightly differently. We’re hoping to include a little surprise, if we can…you’ll just have to wait and see what unfolds (and perhaps be prepared for a little experimentation!).
What I do know is that more discussion will be devoted this time, to Craig waxing lyrical on all the elements the citrus family bring to bear in the components of perfume. In my own personal experience of engaging my olfactory sense, it always seems, when narrowed right down and I must commit my favourite in some learning experience to paper (amidst much sniffing and comparison) that it’s the orange family that wins my heart (and nose!) as I find myself repeatedly writing Neroli and Petitgrain at the top of my list.
So it is that oranges and lemons will fill our day…with glorious oranges still hanging from the trees, and lemons too…it’s that exquisite moment in the season when the fruit are accompanied by their blossom (at least I hope they will be…they usually are on this date!). And I fully intend to bring oranges and lemons into the menu…so you can expect a feast comprising a flurry of orange and yellow!
Of course, you will spend the afternoon making a beautiful candle with Craig too. It’s just possible this will be the most intoxicating workshop of the year! All details and the booking form are here. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
How Craig and I will look forward to you spending a scentillating (sorry…can’t help it…completely over-excited) day with us!
Very best wishes as always,
Mickey
