Four days of gardening in magical weather has seen many jobs done…..but of course, there are so many more to do!

Amongst other things, (sorting compost in prep for our next Kitchen Gardening Day, propagating, planting, moving, deadheading, weeding….), I’m thrilled to have made a start on pruning the espaliered fruit trees that run the width of the Kitchen Garden.  It’s a slow job, particularly as I sort the twigs these days for staking material.  I find them to be invaluable, but experience has taught me that its worth sorting and stripping them at the time of pruning rather than leaving the task for later.

Four trees done, eight to go…..roll on next weekend!
