COOKING WORKSHOP, FEAST and POETRY with CADE McCONNELL, SUNDAY 14 APRIL

About CADE McCONNELL:  @om_cade  @quiet.earth_  www.omcade.com

Cade McConnell is the cook behind Om Cade – a plant-based cooking practice operating in the Byron Bay Shire.

Cade was raised in a small coastal town on Worimi Country, Forster Tuncurry. His upbringing seeded a deep appreciation for the wild aliveness of the Australian land and sea.

His travels to the Indian subcontinent gifted him a connection to Yoga and Vipassana meditation, which have become dedicated practices in his life. Cade’s approach to cooking is an extension of his spiritual practice, a creative and devotional avenue. He uses organic and local market ingredients and cooks in clay pots using unprocessed whole foods.

Through his cookbook, catering and workshops, he hopes to inspire others to relate to food and life with reverence, as part of a collective contribution to a more peaceful and harmonious world.

Our Cooking Workshop, Feast and Poetry on Sunday 14 April:

Join us at 11am…when Cade will be ready to greet you with his collection of unique clay pots, and an array of ingredients…to take you on a journey into his world of wholesome, plant-based food, sharing techniques gathered on his travels.

From coconut milk to curry paste, spices to dosa (South Indian / Sri Lankan inspired temple food) there will be around seven recipes to take home…and a feast to enjoy together!

Post feast…we’ll go on a walk…not too far, but down to where the ring of rock nestles into the eucalypts…(far enough to remove from the garden…and cultivated world) to a magical, peaceful place where Cade promises to regale us with a few verses…before releasing you back into the real world.

Copies of Plants, Clay, Fire will be available and Cade will be delighted to sign them on the day.
