Event name: AUTUMN GARDEN VISIT with SIMMONE LOGUE
AUTUMN GARDEN VISIT with SIMMONE LOGUE, SUNDAY 02 APRIL
SIMMONE LOGUE www.simmonelogue.com.au @simmonelogue @essington_park
Cook, baker, gardener and chatelaine of Essington Park (where her lovingly restored Shearer’s Quarters will soon be hosting workshops and providing accommodation), Simmone has long been part of the very fabric of Sydney’s food scene.
How delighted I am she’s going to get up very early on the morning of our autumn garden visit to bake sourdough (in said Shearer’s Quarters’ kitchen), pack her car with trout rillette, zucchini pickles, roasted & marinated capsicums and goats cheese…and ‘drive across the Abercrombie* to Glemmore!’ (That’s virtually downhill all the way!).
Thus, garden visitors will have just-baked sourdough with delicious toppings to devour…whilst a-wandering, perched or plonked in a chair with a view! Heaven!!
You’ll be even further spoiled with cake baked from Simmone’s Bramley Apples, along with a cuppa.

This delightful pre-Easter garden event will roll out along these lines:
11.30 A little herbal garden tisane on arrival at the Hayshed (where I’ll tick your name off the list…this is another in our series of intimate garden events, and a strictly ticketed one).
Wander the garden, take your time. I’ll be on hand to identify plants and answer questions…the lovely thing about these days being on such a small scale is that there’s time for everyone.

12.45’ish Simmone will be waiting for you to swing by the Dairy to collect your rillette and capsicum topped sourdough…then find yourself a pozzie with a view.
1.30’ish Tea, coffee and that morsel for the sweet-toothed will be available in the Dairy, whilst I’ll open the Barn for all who would like to potter. You can try a hat or dress on for size and spritz Botanical Waters to your heart’s content!
The garden is glorious at this time of year…the Borders full once again post mid-summer prune; all waving grasses amongst the bronze, apricot, pink and burgundy. The kitchen garden has been seasonally rotated, pumpkins romp, dahlias bloom and the field is dotted with roses.
As it’s the weekend before Easter, please take the opportunity to wear your very favourite garden hat! Go on…go overboard!
3.45’ish we’ll aim to close the gates behind the last visitors….so come and find me in the Barn to ask any last-minute questions before you leave…
Cost $65 .00 per person
