Event name: inTHE KITCHEN GARDEN WITH MICKEY, SPRING / SUMMER

Join Mickey as we explore the kitchen garden; from design principles that underpin the layout and aesthetic (comparing the two different growing methods employed in the garden here) through all the relevant tasks of the moment: from care and nurture of veg through their growing season, to staking, support structures, seed (collecting & germination), companion planting, soil and…everyone’s favourites: compost and food (as we taste our way around the garden!).

About the day:

The day will begin with a gentle introduction in the Dairy following morning tea on arrival at 10am. By 11.30 or so we’ll be in the garden come rain, hail or shine! Be prepared, so we can take in all there is to see and learn. Lunch is often late on these days…but we’ll aim to be inside by 2.00 (that’s why you need cake on arrival!). Discussion and questions continue during lunch and then you can have a little potter in the Barn or extended garden wander before the day ends at around 4pm.

*PLEASE NOTE ANY RELEVANT COVID SAFE RULES WILL APPLY ON THE DAY AND WE ASK THAT YOU NOT ATTEND IF YOU FEEL UNWELL…(should that be the unfortunate case, we ask you to please advise your situation as soon as possible so we can attempt to fill your space / or that someone you nominate will be taking your place).
