Oh to revel in a lavender haze…

Which is exactly what you will do during a Lavender Harvest Workshop!

Join me at 10am for a sustaining cuppa before we take a gentle wander to the field…(hats & long sleeves please) for a morning snipping precious, long, aromatic stems. It’s bound to be hot as this is a high summer activity (only possible for a very short period of time as dictated by mother nature) but umbrellas will be in place to protect us from the sun (not this old oriental one that has seen far too many unexpected gusts of wind in its lifetime – see right!).

Gradually our perfumed bounty will accumulate as we toss handfulls of stems onto old hessian sacks…then we’ll bundle our haul and head to the welcome shade of the airy Dairy.

Time to take a breath, sip a herbal garden tisane and set to snipping our beautiful purple stems for weighing…

By now we’re all bound to be a bit peckish after our morning’s toil in the field, so a little seasonal, field-picnic-inspired lunch in the shade will set us up for the most intoxicating part of the day yet…the distillation.

Time to dream…immerse…inhale…I can almost guarantee you will feel quite giddy with delight at this most unique of summer days, filled with gentle activity and bonhommie.

There will be time to visit the Barn (if you like) before you gather your treasures from the day’s activities and float away on a lavender haze…at about 4.00’ish!
