It’s 3 weeks this weekend since I harvested the garlic and spread it out to dry under cover.

A couple of days ago, I gathered it all up into a huge basket….and now it waits for a spare moment???!!!! to be bundled up & hung in a cool, dry spot.  We’ve had a good crop & there should be enough to see us through ’til spring next year.

Now, if you didn’t get around to growing your own garlic this year, the solution is to buy a box from Patrice Newell, who has had a bumper organic crop.  As you know, Patrice came to Glenmore for a wonderful day earlier this year, and inspired a lovely group with her tales of Olives, Garlic & Life in the Hunter.  My own garlic crop is a result of a box I purchased from Patrice a few years ago (I now save my own).  But I know there are plenty of you who don’t have the space, so Patrice’s beautifully packaged boxes of plump Australian garlic are definitely the way to go!  The link above will take you directly to Patrice’s site and you can place your order there.  Maybe even spoil someone with a box for Christmas – a beautiful and useful presssie for a friend who loves to cook….and that will last into the autumn.
