Happy New Year everyone! I thought I’d give you a little break from me (as much as me from the computer!).
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. We were delighted with 1&1/3 inches of rain and a candlelit Christmas Day – unusual but not unheard of and though the outdoor plans went out the window; a wet, thundery & cosy day was thoroughly enjoyed by us all at Glenmore.
The veg don’t know if they’re coming or going – they’re scorched by the sun one minute and chilled the next, but we DID eat our first tomato on New Year’s Day, first aubergines a few days before, and I’m collecting beans each day to accumulate enough to eat – it seems it’s not the best bean season, so far anyway. Zucchinis are coming along a treat and cucumbers have set, lettuce leaves aren’t doing badly and we munched our way through those lovely rows I posted an image of a few weeks ago.
I hope you enjoy these holiday weeks. My days this year are rather fractured – with intermittent spurts in the car with our ‘L’ plater! (Rather be in the garden, but…..as they say, a mother’s work is never done!).
