A day for remembrance,  thought and contemplation…..Anzac Day’s pruning of the rosemary has become my own little tradition.  It just so happens that the day coincides with appropriate timing for this necessary task, and the happy result of a few hours hard toil will be small bundles of rosemary to make an aromatic addition to the crackling fires we’ll soon be enjoying.  


While on the topic of fires to warm us in the months ahead, another job on the list that will require some gentle exertion, is to collect kindling:  with a clear day & warm sun, there are plenty of dry, windfall branches,  twigs & sheaths of bark to be picked up and stored.  I see an active, as well as thoughtful day ahead…
