Perhaps not the best photographic example but it seems almost impossible to photograph the length of this bed that surrounds the veg garden….My point is that its difficult to achieve a naturalistic effect without the use of seed. I’ve managed to coax nigella to spill its seed in this spot and hopefully the flowers will create a lovely blue haze in the spring, though the foliage is enchanting now, creeping through the woven edge. Then I purposely sprinkled the seed of the mustard green ‘red elk’ next to the nigella (below), and so a wonderful ‘full’ border is coming to life.
