I’m still playing with peas here! While by now I’m encouraging all my proper pea plantings to wind their way up pea-sticks, as they send out their curly tendrils to attach to whatever they can find; a month or so ago, I found myself wondering what to do with all the out-of-date peas I’ve saved, that may or may not still be viable? Well….’waste not, want not’ is how the old saying goes….and knowing that I really love to snap off & eat pea shoots, (but am loathe to do this too often to the peas I’ve planted for, well…peas actually!), I decided to toss my spares into prepared soil, to see what happened: nothing ventured, nothing gained…..
The first image is my second attempt at this sowing with gay abandon lark! While the image above is the result of my first attempt. And I’m thrilled to bits! It looks like almost all the seed came up! So nothing has been wasted and, I should have extra pea shoots to play with! Let’s hope I get the same strike rate from last weekend’s sowing. (Of course….I pushed all the peas into the ground after I took the shot!). And now its raining….they’re all being nicely watered in. Thank you up there!
