In my post of 20 December, titled ‘Festive Garlands’, I promised to report back on the progress of tying the grape bunches around our verandah into brown paper bags. Well….the result is (do I dare say it????…..) a mixed bag! While some are picture and taste-perfect, which is really far more important; others have shrivelled and some are full of ants – yick. But on the whole, the effort has been worthwhile. It’s kept the birds at bay, intrigued visitors – especially inquisitive children; and lucky friends are on the receiving end of luscious bunches of table grapes. All good!
