I’m sorry I’ve been absent for a few weeks…the frenzy of Christmas, a couple of weeks to wind down, be quiet, restore….and I’m not quite back at my desk full throttle yet! There are tasks to complete at this time of year. I like to ‘get my house in order’ before the year runs away all over again. But I’ll aim for a blog post or two, to ease back in gently!
We were so incredibly lucky to have a week at the beach just after New Year. It’s become a bit of a ritual, enabled only by finding someone to house and garden-sit and for that I thank Sally once again, for keeping things hanging on by a thread, as the heat is fierce at this time of year and as I write, things are baking outside in the elements.
I so love my days at the beach. Everything those few words sum up….to frolic in the waves, to float in the sea, to splash through the foam as it rushes onto the shore, the constant roar, the salt-laden breeze, the clear pools of creatures, weed and shells to be discovered in the rocks at the southernmost tip of the beach, where it’s so divine to explore in the late afternoon. The beach refreshes, calms and awakens the spirit and imagination once again.
Although I have a million images, of sand and sea, froth, foam, clear waters playing on land’s edge, (and all the rest!), I’ll spare you them, and instead take you on a journey into the mid-summer season at Glenmore. I have a new camera, so please bare with me as I launch into new posts over the coming days, as I’m not sure I’ve really got the hang of it yet!
I hope this finds my regulars all happy, well, refreshed and as excited about 2014 as me. And from now on, I promise to keep the posts as short as they usually are!
Happy New Year!
