Planning for the Garden Show in Centennial Park began a month or so ago (I know I ought to say several months, but there have been other things on the agenda!). I hatched a plan, to play on a potting shed theme; chased up a lead or two, placed an order….and so it was that last week, a rustic wall arrived in a box! Full marks to Rebel Walls….the order to my exact specifications did indeed arrive in minimum time and was so very straightforward & easy to use.
We managed to get it papered onto panels (resting on the Dairy floor), on Friday last week….amidst all the preparation for Saturday’s Kitchen Gardening Day. This proved to be interesting, as we read too late that the paste needed 24 hours to dry….so we could separate and wrap the panels only just before participants arrived!
Here is a sneak-peek of our work in progress. We have a long way to go, but the ‘wall’ is in place. Alex shovelled out, while I raked 3 square metres of deep gravel with a pick-axe (we forgot to pack a rake!), so that was my work-out for the week! Now its over to Clemmie and me to tweak and pull it all together properly tomorrow. We have some lovely pieces from Ici et La and plenty of my favourite things from the Barn. Early Wednesday morning will see me collecting armfuls of herbs (rain, hail or shine), so by evening, our little space will be transformed. We very much hope you’ll come & inspect it for yourself!
