Captured in a fleeting moment of sunshine…
Hello everyone,
My goodness we seem to be hurtling from one calamity to another, don’t we? Just as one disaster subsides, another seems to raise its ugly head, bringing furious consequences. I do hope you’ve weathered this most recent local one and acknowledge that for so many the flooding is far from over (don’t get me started on what’s happening on the other side of the world).
This is simply a gentle reminder…that our LATE SUMMER PERFUMERY (so named because honestly…while the calendar may suggest otherwise, when the fierce sun breaks through the cloud, the garden here knows otherwise!) & CANDLE MASTERCLASS with CRAIG ANDRADE of THE RACONTEUR, is next weekend on SUNDAY 13 MARCH.
We have just a handful of places left and would be delighted if you would join us for this intoxicating day.
I’ve been in touch with Craig to let him know of the amazing heady fragrance emanating from our Cistus ladanifer these last days…its resinous odour seems to have permeated the very atmosphere…triggering thoughts of journeys past. While the pinwheel flowers of Gardenia thunbergia (above) ensures we’re floating on a constant late summer high. With Craig, we’ll classify these and many more plants as we make our way around the garden that morning…collecting, pressing, sniffing…attuning our olfactory sense.
There will be lunch and there will be a candle making masterclass. It will be a very, very full day! All the details and the booking form are here and if you have any questions, do get in touch.
In the meantime, please keep high, dry and safe. And in the words of Jade Miles who is coming here this afternoon to talk Futuresteading (two places left if you’re quick!) ‘live like tomorrow matters’.
Very best wishes as always,
Mickey
