I know….I haven’t posted anything lately….for a start let’s blame the HSC, year 12, visual art….being a mother, official prop collector, driver etc.  But my goodness – after this year it will all be over and we’ll wonder where the time went. And anyway, its been the most enormous amount of fun!

One day last week though, I was very lucky indeed to go on an insider’s plant hunting adventure with Richard Unsworth from Garden Life in Surry Hills.  He took me along on one of his early morning buying expeditions, to secret places!  What an absolute treat it was.  Temptation everywhere (of the plant kind!).  From markets to greenhouses full of magic, so much on offer, it was simply a joy to soak it all in.  You see though, that I did succumb to just one purchase…..I just couldn’t resist!  It’s a Euphorbia, e. trigona rubra (Richard thinks!).  And where I scooped this up, there was a gigantic one! I’m not sure where it will ultimately end up, but for now, I’m keeping it inside where I can admire its quirky form and keep it out of the winter chill.

A plant hunting day with a friend – those are the days gardeners remember well. Thank you Richard…
