This year the pumpkin patch was SO slow to get a move on. I planted the seed late and, of course, there was no sun. But it’s been simply galloping away these last weeks! As well as up & over the wigwam, the vines have escaped over the fence and are romping across the paddock. (I know I should cut them off….well, maybe this weekend, but they look such fun….). Fruit has set and I just hope it has time to mature before the first frosts set in.
I do enjoy the way the gigantic leaves hold themselves aloft, and flutter in a gentle breeze… (Can you JUST make out our neighbours herd of cattle coming out of the milking shed – top right? – I so love to see his cattle on the hill – it must be one of the BEST borrowed landscapes you could imagine).
