I do apologise to those of you who are regular readers, for my lack of posts this last week or so.  It’s just that time of the year – either paperwork or pruning, so there’s not a great deal to report.  I wish I was in the garden more, as I’m so keen to get on top of all the pruning and preparation ahead of time for our open garden celebrations on October 19 & 20 (do make a note in your diary now – its going to be a HUGE weekend and I’ll fill you in with all the exciting details soon!), but paperwork seems to be taking priority as there is so much to complete, (like stocktake….rrrrggggghhhhh!), as well as to plan!

Have you noticed its getting dark just marginally later in the evenings? That does make me happy, and thanks to those warm days at the end of last week, after so much rain, there are already signs of bud-swell!  This week’s chill has slowed it all down again though.

The Winter Kitchen Garden is on track.  I even ate the first sugar snap pea today – it looked a bit lonely, all on its own!  And here you see the last of the rhubarb for awhile.  It’s time it took a break so I picked it all.  There’s chicken stock bubbling on the cooktop and a lovely fire in the kitchen. All is well, so back to the paperwork….and I’ll hope to have the first of the late winter/spring newsletters heading your way next week!  Do suggest to any of your friends that they join the mailing list now, ahead of the next batch of spring news…
