Rose Geranium Workshop

Gathering Pace

Hello everyone

I’m super excited to invite you to the first ever ROSE GERANIUM HARVEST & DISTILLATION WORKSHOP here at GLENMORE HOUSE on SATURDAY 15 JULY.

To date I’ve run my ROSE GERANIUM DISTILLATIONS on my own, enjoying the peaceful task of gathering, preparing and the joy of distilling bundles of vibrant, aromatic plant material quietly, by myself. But all along my aim has been to include you; to offer the opportunity to join me for a day of participation and immersion in the entire, beautiful fieldto-bottle experience!

The result of course is pure Rose Geranium Botanical Water – to spritz your face for a moment of uplifting indulgence (as many of you have been doing since I released the first batch in little 10ml atomisers almost two years ago!). But in attending this workshop you will be able to take a much larger bottle home…so you can spritz your linen now as well! For this very reason, the number of places will be very limited (as the yield per distillation is not huge…and the more peeps who attend, the smaller the bottle to take home!). This is micro-distillation and exactly the way I intend to keep it…on a domestic scale; both for the intimate experience participants can enjoy on such a day and the pure, precious botanical water yielded which is, in essence, the garden (and a moment in time) captured in a bottle.

I envisage the day beginning (as they pretty much always do here) at 10am with morning tea as you make yourself at home. Then off to the field we’ll go, to cut great armfuls of Rose Geranium. (As the task in this instance doesn’t take as long as that of cutting and preparing lavender, this will be a slightly shorter day than other field to distillation experiences I’ve proposed so far). I guesstimate we’ll have the distillation carried out by lunchtime; and as I would feel very bad sending you on your way without a little seasonal something and time to potter, there will be a very simple picnic-like lunch. Then off you will sail on a rose-scented-geranium ride home…at around 2.00’ish!

All the details and the booking form are here. How I hope you will be tempted to join me on another of these quirky, idyllic days out! This one is about pure escapism and will be positively intoxicating!

As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

With very best wishes,

Mickey

ps This is a very different day to the proposed ‘Field of Flower Workshops’ which will be coming up in late October/November – for those who have their names on the list!
