Scented Spring

Something to look forward to…

Hello everyone

As we enjoy the chill mornings, fire-lit evenings; crisp, sparkling (and thankfully the odd cosy, grey & wet!) day, I thought it a good opportunity to let you know my thoughts on the season ahead. Whilst I’m not quite yet done with wintry reasons to tempt you here (watch out soon for sprinter cooking and kitchen gardening) I make no apology for the fact that this particular spring our workshops and events will be heavily laden with scent, aroma, odour…perfume.

Years in the planning, I’m working towards bringing some long held flower-filled dreams to fruition. And how I hope you will join me!

Whilst I intend to throw in a few more of those intimate garden visits with a twist before the year is through – they have been so much fun and offer an excuse for a more casual visit whilst still keeping you well watered and seasonally fed; I’m excited that in the coming weeks I’ll also have reason to release two spectacular scent-related workshops with guest experts in their field.

First, I’ve persuaded JILL MULVANEY (internationally renowned distillation educator) of THE ALEMBICS LAB NZ, to fly over at the end of September to present a two-day ‘ART OF DISTILLATION’ WORKSHOP on the WEEKEND of 23/24. As I realise this may require some advance planning, the details and booking form are already available here.

And second, CRAIG ANDRADE of THE RACONTEUR will present our one and only PERFUMERY & CANDLE MASTERCLASS for the year at the end of October.

Learning and spending time with each of these icons in the scented botanical / perfume realm will be an enormous treat, offering valuable know-how and insight to all who attend. My own days – in particular the Field of Flowers Workshops will offer heady, indulgent, intoxicating escapism…filled with colour, perfume and joy….the stuff that dreams are made of.

I’ll trickle out further details as each event becomes fully fledged, but in the meantime I wish you happy hibernation or travels if you’re gallivanting. Or if life is just a little humdrum…I hope this gives you something to look forward to. We’ve passed the shortest day – woohoo!

With very best wishes as always

Mickey
