Seed to seed…the continuous cycle at play…
Hello everyone,
I’m guessing you all know by now that equations really are not my thing! But the simple words of one I scribbled down many moons ago have recently been swirling around my head with such voracity, that they have become impossible to ignore as the direction in which I feel this new year here at Glenmore must unfurl. The words tumbled out spontaneously during a conversation the weekend before Christmas…and oft since, have even had me awake in the night. Those same words were at the very crux of instigating my Kitchen Gardening Days way back then and (although I’ve expanded the topics and workshops beyond my wildest dreams here since) they’re the same words (sometimes expanded and elaborated upon) that to this day, underpin the core intention and message from me here Glenmore House…
For all the merriment, the fun, the love and the laughter; the ornamental, the material right through to the spiritual…all the things that as humans we want to pursue in life are reliant upon these things:
SOIL + SUN + RAIN
=
FOOD
=
NUTRITION
+
EXERCISE
=
HEALTH
Which is why I’ve decided this year here is going to be all about getting back to those basics, because I believe they underpin the very key to life, without which none of the other is possible. Add the words SEASONAL and ORGANIC (and delicious of course!) to FOOD, and the words PHYSICAL and MENTAL (joy and fulfilment) to HEALTH…which combined, keep bringing me to the line that won’t leave me alone, even in the middle of the night:

and/or via supporting regenerative agriculture
for those unable to garden for whatever reason, and I do recognise of course that not everyone is able to do so for a multitude of good reasons and so workshops will be relevant whether you do or don’t (garden). You still eat.
With all that in my whirring mind, I just thought I’d check in to hint at the general direction of where special guest events and workshops may lead during the course of this year as I pursue a slew of relevant, immersive, inspiring and stimulating topics.
And I wanted to send you heartfelt new year wishes before the days run away as they’re inclined to do!
So whilst I sit here contemplating, percolating and occasionally bubbling over with excitement as I wing off messages left, right and centre in an attempt to bring you a compelling collection of reasons to visit Glenmore during the year ahead, I very much hope you’re able to while away a few more leisurely summer weeks before the true working year begins!
