Blossom, citrus and…
Hello everyone,
I’d like to invite you to celebrate the arrival of spring, with a very mini-scale OPEN GARDEN & MORNING TEA on SUNDAY 04 SEPTEMBER!
With the winter solstice behind us and the winter garden celebration too, it’s time to look ahead. Whilst I have a lovely list of spring workshops planned (whose details I’ll spill one at a time) I know many of you enjoy visiting Glenmore just for a gentle garden wander…and that plenty of you also rather enjoy tea and cake!
In the great scheme of garden timing, this is very early in the season…when the garden is still in skeletal form, so you can clearly see the structure, alongside newly burgeoning blossom. It’s a moment on the brink, full of anticipation: freshly pruned, composted and mulched in preparation for the season ahead (one of my absolute favourite moments of the gardening year); whilst the kitchen garden will be well into its seasonal stride.
We’ll open the gates at 10am (this is a strictly ticketed event) and you can expect a glass of elderflower cordial on arrival in the Hayshed, where we’ll tick your name off the list! Morning tea in the Dairy from 10.30 will see one of the big trestle tables laden with cakes (all the recipes from the book!) and you can plop yourself onto one of the wall cushions in the loggia, or into a chair in the orchard to savour each morsel with a cuppa.
I’ll open the Barn at 11.30 (hopefully the next run of dresses will have arrived by then) and you can test run the Botanical Waters too! If you’d like to collect a Rose Geranium, Orange Blossom and/or Lavender Botanical Water on the day, you can pre-order here (just scroll down to the bottom of that page to the highlighted water/s) and I’ll have them bottled and waiting for you!
You will be welcome to linger longer; there’ll be no rush to leave (we just won’t be providing lunch) and I’ll be happy to talk with you about the garden at leisure – whether the Ornamental, the Field of Flowers or about Kitchen Gardening.
All the details and the booking form are here. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
How I’ll look forward to seeing you here!
Very best wishes,
Mickey
