I was delighted to arrive home to garlands of grapes hugging the courtyard verandah. We’d tied them into brown paper bags to keep them from the birds at Christmas time, so they’ve been swelling in secret (see last season’s previous experiment!). But we could see the heavy rains of the last few days were about to cause a major fungal problem, so the jewel-like fruit were liberated from their soggy hiding place. Once the raindrops have dried, I’ll bag them separately & pop them into the fridge. With any luck, we won’t need to buy grapes for the rest of the season!
