Jeremy Valentine and partner Grant Francis became custodians of The Stones in September 2013. Artists both, and purveyors of vintage wares (their day job @shagmelbourne is where they hunt and deal in fine treasures across an array of genres).
Their own backgrounds are as eclectic as the garden they have created around an old stone house and collection of once dilapidated dairy farm buildings (sound familiar?!) in the harsh climes north of Daylesford, in Central Victoria.
Their garden restoration journey has seen them encounter all manner of trials and tribulations along the way – but it’s a journey which has taught

them the secret language of the environment and the changing of an already tough climate. Above all, it’s a story of two once city-slickers, making a home and a quiet garden sanctuary away from an ever maddening world.
Event Friday 27 September:
Join us at 11am…when we’ll meet in the Hayshed for an nourishing little cup of scented veg broth before you take your seat in the Dairy for Jeremy’s presentation at 11.30. We’ll be aiming for a simple, seasonal amd garden-inspired lunch at the long tables at 1pm where we very much expect the conversation to continue. You will be welcome to linger longer in the garden and to potter in the Barn. We expect the official part of the event to be complete by 3pm.
