In the evening light….They are truly dwindling now – in fact, I’d written off anymore pea collecting.  So it was with great delight that I pounced upon these this evening.  All twenty-seven of them!  Do you count things?  I don’t normally, but I always seem to count veg when I collect them.  I just can’t seem to help myself – perhaps its some kind of disorder!  Last week it was 73 rhubarb stalks (and I normally have a brain like a sieve!).

So this evening we’ll be enjoying twenty-seven squeaky mangetout, and one Madame Isaac Pereire rose – a beautiful Bourbon with velvet petals of crimson pink, and an exquisitely deep rose scent….

No, we’re not going to EAT the rose!
