UPCOMING WORKSHOPS at GLENMORE HOUSE

Fleeting…

Hello everyone,

Already the spring has had its first flush (now being washed away in the fabulous rain) and there’s joy to be found not just in the pristine new growth after winter’s bare chill, but in the detail of those first flowers well on their journey. How I love the crumpled petals of Rosa rugosa Sarah van Fleet. She’s one of my absolute favourites and I take great delight in the arrangement of her pretty pink petals at all stages of their cycle…not least their demise. You might have gathered, given last week’s newsletter image, that we’re having a very pink moment here at Glenmore…it’s fleeting, but such fun after the winter months!

Although filled with a sense of trepidation at the audacity of even suggesting it…I feel our twice postponed KITCHEN GARDENING WORKSHOP (originally slated for mid-Winter, then late Winter/Early Spring) can now be re-released, albeit with a new name and date: LATE SPRING in  the KITCHEN GARDEN on SATURDAY 06 NOVEMBER!

While some who originally booked, persevered through the date changes and are looking forward to the day…I’ve lost a couple whose second jab is sadly not due ’til after the event. So whilst keeping a wary eye on numbers, I’m happy to open a scant few places, if you would like to join me and this very patient small group on this kitchen gardening date.

There may also be a couple of places available at our WILLOW STRUCTURE WORKSHOP with PENNY SIMONS (also postponed from its original date) on FRIDAY 29 OCTOBER. I know some on the list are still unsure of travel between the regions and/or vaccination status, so please contact me if you have an inkling you could join and I’ll keep you informed of the likelihood of a place at this much sought after workshop.

Although we may have to forgo our regular long-table seasonal lunch, it will simply take another form, and  I’m confident in coming up with a solution to make us all happy…and comply with the rules.

While numbers will be very strictly limited for both events, please contact me to let me know of your interest in participating, and then I’ll be able to open up the booking forms.

You can view details for both days: here for the Willow Structure Workshop and here for Late Spring in the Kitchen Garden.

I’ll be in touch again soon with other workshop updates. As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

I hope you’re all negotiating the new world as it slowly re-opens. Here at Glenmore…it’s happening in very slow motion...

Very best wishes,

Mickey
