It’s a joy to be home!  
The first surprise was that on the day we left, (two weeks before), I picked two rather large Costoluto tomatoes which had just sun-blushed cheeks…..and left them on the kitchen window sill.  They made an excellent accompaniment to a herb omelette on our late evening arrival home – what a treat!  Perfect red, ripe, mid-winter tomatoes!  There are another two clinging to what by now is a rather spindly plant on last season’s wigwam & I wonder if they’ll ever make it to the edible stage?  (Of course, I was too tired and hungry to photograph them!), but here is a basket, full of our first home winter leaf salads…
