Wonderful water! Gushing, spilling, rushing with a roar, flushing out previously stagnant pools; eddying and bubbling, before slowing to a flow, filling the creek bed and meandering away on its journey to the river.
It’s such a rare occurrence that I find compelling; thrilling. Big dumps of rain fill me with a sense of anticipation….ears alert for a roar that can reach the house; an eye towards the dam with each chore that takes me beyond the kitchen door. I know it’s childlike behaviour, but I love it!
It’s a little known aspect of Glenmore, as few visitors make it beyond the bounds of the garden fence, but a whole other world exists out there, at the bottom of the paddocks. And it’s magic. Pure magic….
