A HEADY SUMMER DAY at GLENMORE HOUSE

Gossamer threads in the dawn field last weekend…I estimate the lavender will be ready to pick in a fortnight…

Hello everyone,

As the year winds down to its natural summer close, I have just one more delightful workshop to tempt you before downing tools…and it’s a beauty!

One in which you can abandon all sense of reality (ignore the stress of the season, the grotesque world events that are so very disturbing) and immerse…in purpose-filled tasks, repetitive action, surrounded by both visual and olfactory beauty. A day that will calm your mind, lift your spirits, give you space to breathe… and make you smile.

I’m inviting  you to join me for a LAVENDER HARVEST WORKSHOP on one of two dates: THURSDAY 14 DECEMBER  or WEDNESDAY 20 DECEMBER.

These days are pure magic! You will toil for a short while in the field  (it’s a good way to begin the day!) but fear not…it’s a joyous not an onerous task! I’ll pop umbrellas up for shade and we’ll take a cool drink in a basket and a fold-up chair or two, so that we can sit and chat between bouts of picking at lavender-eye-level! Is your imagination now seeking that lavender haze…that hypnotic note of calm in the atmosphere?

In hessian sacks we’ll haul our bundle to the Dairy, sip a reviving tisane brewed from herbs picked on our way back to that big, airy space and sort our material for both distillation and play…snip, snipping…and  probably chat, chatting! These days are inclined to revolve around gentle conversation, and combined with heady olfactory and visual delight, make for a quite enchanting experience.

There will be a little garden-inspired seasonal lunch and….a glorious distillation.…the contents of which will be shared at the end of the day, when home you will sail on a blissful lavender-induced high! 

You can read further details here but please don’t make an actual booking ’til we’ve emailed back & forth to confirm which date. I already have a list that ensures one or both days will proceed….but if you have a friend / or little group / or wish to come on  your own…I’ll need to be in touch to ensure the best outcome as the number of places per day are very limited.  I’m not sure if I will be able to add another day to the Lavender Harvest Workshops this season as mother nature has been a good fortnight ahead of schedule since sprinter, so these two dates may be the very only opportunity! Please wing off a message to me if you’re interested!
